Private Hosting - Optional Module
With DesignSmart you have control over how your data is hosted.
Like all of other project management companies, we host most of our clients on our clouded based “shared” servers. However, we provide two other hosting options as explained below.
Private
DesignSmart Server
We can provide your firm with your own private cloud server. This would allow you to set the schedule for updates.

On-Premise Server
We can install DesignSmart on a server you already have. This would allow you to set the schedule for updates. We recommend this for all clients who use a desktop version of QuickBooks.

Why is on-premise hosting recommended for firms that use a desktop version of QuickBooks?
Designers will always use the web version of DesignSmart, but back office staff will need to use the desktop version of DesignSmart, as it communicates with the desktop version of QuickBooks. When the DesignSmart data is located on an on-premise server in the same office where the QuickBooks data is located, then the speeds are very good which is why we recommend on-premise hosting for firms that use a desktop version of QuickBooks.
